The Education Bureau (EDB) supports and encourages schools to adopt healthy school policy. To echo the endeavour, the Department of Health (DH) has organised an annual "Principal Summit", which aims to provide a platform for schools to share and exchange their experiences on the promotion of healthy eating in schools in short and medium term. Since the school year 2013/14, the Principal Summit was changed into "Healthy Eating Forum" to involve more relevant stakeholders together to combat with childhood obesity.
For this year’s Healthy Eating Forum, Prof. Alice KONG (Honorable Secretary of the Hong Kong Association for the Study of Obesity) delivered a keynote speech on "Top 10 Food Traps in Schools". Afterwards, DH and EDB presented awards to schools which have achieved accreditation in the school year 2014/15.
