Although many schools have been conducting lunch or / and snacks monitoring and making feedback to their suppliers for a long time, we are aware that most of these checks are limited to tastes and temperature of provided meals and did not actually assess their nutritional standards.

Totally the monitoring with the prevailing guidelines on lunch and snacks, the Department of Health could arrange "Lunch Monitoring Workshop" or "Snacks Monitoring Workshop" for schools participated in the EatSmart School Accreditation Scheme"upon their request. The Workshop would usually be conducted in small group (commonly with no more than 10 persons) and target audiences are those teachers or parents directly involved in school meal arrangement or nutrition monitoring. Through the workshop, we hope that participants would be able to grasp the essence of nutrition monitoring within a short period of time.

Desirably, a combination of teachers and parents (usually two enough) should be appointed for monitoring and we suggest 4 lunch monitoring and 2 snacks monitoring in a year respectively.
