The Education Bureau supports and encourages schools to adopt healthy school policy. To echo the endeavour, the Department of Health has organized an annual Principal Summit since 2007 which aims to provide a platform for schools to share and exchange their experiences on the promotion of healthy eating in schools in short and medium term.

This year's Principal Summit presented Awards to schools which have achieved accreditation in the 2010-2011 school year and was followed by sharing by an EatSmart school. Opportunity was also taken to debrief participants on key milestones achieved by the ESS Campaign as well as its way forward. The Summit aimed to safeguard schools' interests by focusing on school administrative issues related to lunch supply and the implementation of on-site meal portioning.

Date: 11 July 2011
Number of participants: over 270

School representatives received awards for achieving the highest honour of EatSmart School.
